a recent graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana, with a Major in Biology, Brianna will pursue her post grad studies at Mississippi College. Brianna's long term goal is to attend Medical School, with a specialty in Women's Health. Brianna is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She enjoys reading, blogging, all things fashion, and spending time with her family. Brianna is Living Legends youngest mentor!
Tiffany L. Carson, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine where her primary focus is biomedical and public health research. In this role, Dr. Carson also devotes significant time to the mentoring of students and junior faculty members. Additionally, Dr. Carson is an Associate Scientist in the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Center, and the Nutrition Obesity Research Center at UAB. Dr. Carson has successfully secured grant funding from the National Institutes of Health to support her research and training and has published 30 manuscripts in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Dr. Carson earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biological sciences from Florida State University. She completed her Master’s and Doctoral graduate work at UAB with a concentration in epidemiology. Dr. Carson also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
